This is a collection of short stories based on real people's lives and experiences as immigrants coming from Poland to Canada after WW2. A few of the stories are of well known people - like Tadeusz Brzezinski (father of Zbigniew Brzezinski), whose extraordinary life is presented and can be read with great interest. A few people are well known in Canada such as Peter Gzowski, a relative of Sir Casimir Gzowski, or Marion Andre, Holocaust survivor. Some stories are very funny, some sad, some people are achievers, some are losers.
